Garbage

The Stanford community has weekly backyard service. This means the garbage is collected weekly from where ever the garbage cans are usually stored. Customers must supply their own 32 gallon containers for garbage collection.

For missed collection or extra garbage service, please call our office at (650) 321-4236.

As of February 9, 2006, a new law bans batteries, fluorescent lamps and thermometers from the trash! Residents and small businesses will be prohibited from disposing of Universal Waste (ie. batteries, fluorescent lamps and compact bulbs, thermostats, and thermometers) in the trash. For more information, visit our Commonly Asked Household Hazardous Waste Questions webpage: http://recycling.stanford.edu/recycling/caq_hhw.html#LAW.
