As of February 9, 2006, a new law bans batteries, fluorescent lamps and thermometers from the trash! Residents and small businesses are prohibited from disposing of Universal Waste (ie. batteries, fluorescent lamps and compact bulbs, thermostats, and thermometers) in the trash. Please do not put these items in the garbage or curbside recycling bins.
