Solid Waste and Recycling Specifications for New and Remodeled Buildings
on the Stanford University Campus
Corrugated Cardboard - Frontloader
 |
General Corrugated cardboard is collected via frontloader dumpsters and frontloader
trucks and hauled directly to market. |
Service
- Frontloader dumpsters are easy and quick to service and easily relocated.
- Dumpsters range in sizes from one to eight cubic yards and are generally placed next to the black garbage dumpsters.
- PSSI can service these dumpsters up to five times per week, Monday through Friday.
- The least expensive service is called a drive-at where the garbage truck lines up with the dumpster and empties it without moving the box by hand.
- A more expensive option is to have a dismount service, where the driver moves the dumpster by hand into the correct position, empties the bin, and then pushes it by hand back to its original location.
- The cardboard dumpsters on campus are painted green.
Specifications
- The dimensions can vary on these dumpsters. They tend to be taller and have wheels so they can be placed sideways.
- No matter the size, they will be at least six feet wide and need two feet on each side for clearance.
- Only dumpsters four cubic yards and smaller can have dismount service. All dumpsters five cubic yards and larger
must have drive-at service.
- In order to service the dumpster, the truck needs 45 feet of access and should not have any overhead hazards
(i.e. wires and tree branches).
- A concrete pad should be laid underneath all dumpster locations extending under the front wheels of the truck
during the dumping process.
Specifications subject to change. To determine the level of service needed for new projects or for more information, please contact Julie Muir at PSSI at (650) 321-4236 or
